“Skuld” is a documentary about a young couple, Kristján and Rut, who risk their financial situation and relationship, when they start working as fishermen, catching cod off the coast of Iceland, on their small fishing boat, Skuld.
During the hunt, Kristján strives to teach Rut everything he knows. Obviously they don’t always agree, neither of life nor cod… but these two terms often seem to become one and the same in their world.
Produced by Bíóbúgí, co-produced by Northern Wave Production, with support from The Icelandic Film Centre.
Skuld was nominated as the best Icelandic documentary in 2023.
